Recently one of my kick-ass graduates from a summer data analytics program asked me about what are the best SQL and Python online certificate programs. I was honored to be asked since I have stacked up my share of certificates such as the CompTIA A+ and Security+ and all played in role in my career development you can say those certs saved my ass more than having 3 cheap-ass college degrees. So I offered to assist my student with my know how about online programs in particular I pay close attention to outcomes like employment in their field of study. I do not want my student shelling out tons of dollars with no solid part-time or full-time employment in his certificate. Time is valuable so I do not want him wasting his precious time if the online certification does not lead to an entry level career. Don’t waste time on the minimum wage to increase your skills.
Based on my research and review here are my 5 choices in data analytics
Woz-U Since I am a resident of Arizona my first choice is the online school started by former Apple cofounder Steve “Woz” Wozniak I did not view any employment outcomes or instructor bios but 100% online can be completed in 1 year or less and never have to step foot in blazing hot Phoenix.
Many years ago I applied for a position at Coursera.com all I know was that they were a 100% remote education and training operation with none of the trappings of traditional learning like I had back in the 1990s well they made the list since they are in the Bay Area close to top global companies so the Coursera data program backed by major corporate players can prepare you with the skills to excel in data analytics. Coursera offers a massive range of courses better than many universities with top name instructors who work in their field of specialization over at Coursera Data Analytics
General Assembly-a favorite of mine since I took a ton of their one-day seminars on a range of technology topics like I was continually hungry for their up-to-date knowledge taught by people in the real-world. All those certs with General Assembly helped me land a ton of online gig assignments.
One of the pioneers offering online certificates and training is offered by Edex with extensive course offerings in data analytics that can make you a pro overnight. I have taken classes with Edex before they were bought out but they carry a marquee globally recognized name.
Another choice is Udemy an online learning platform with en entertaining approach to online learning.
Review the course comments, ratings check their ratings, talk to any former grads are they working in the field.
